About Me
Hi, my name is Zhe-Yu Chen (陈哲宇)，a PhD candidate at The University of Melbourne. My research focuses on the taxonomy and systematics of land and freshwater molluscs, with particular interests in Lymnaeidae, Diplommatinidae, Diapheridae and other diverse gastropod groups. I am also broadly interested in parasitology, especially host–parasite interactions involving freshwater molluscs, as well as the history of zoological studies in China. My work integrates morphology, molecular systematics and biogeography, with a regional focus on East Asia and an additional interest in Quaternary malacology and soil invertebrate diversity.
To date, I have authored or co-authored more than 40 publications, including over 30 papers in ISI and SJR (Q1) journals. My research has been supported by competitive grants such as the Holsworth Wildlife Research Endowment, the LinnéSys Systematics Research Fund, and the Melbourne Research Scholarship. I have also received awards including the Tony Whitten Conservation Award and multiple national science competition prizes.
